To let go
By: Derpynarhwal42
I see you on your deathbed,
Gasping,
Trying to hold on to what you have left,
And I see doctors,
Trying to help you, but to no avail,
And as your last moments flash before your eyes, I see everything,
I see the friends you made,
I see your family,
Now I see you crying for them then as you are crying now,
Not wanting to pass on,
Wanting to stay alive,
Wanting to finish what you started,
I almost feel sad for you,
But I can’t,
I have done this same thing many times before,
I have done this to so many people that my mind is numb,
And the only emotion I have now is boredom,
Doing the same thing over and over a
Pain
By: Derpynarhwal42
Pain is what people fear,
What people turn away from,
What people ignore,
What people want to forget about,
But no matter what they do,
It always comes back,
“You should have helped him”
“You shouldn’t have done that”
“You shouldn’t have said that”
Most people think pain is just a cut,
A bruise,
Something that you can just brush off,
But it’s not,
Pain is regret,
It tugs at your very being,
The fact that you could have done something else,
Something better,
The people who try to forget regret don’t understand,
They don’t know that regret will always be
Invisible

I am the person who stands in the corner at every party,
Wanting nothing more than to be noticed,
But I never am,
I am the loner at the lunch table,
Wanting just one person to sit down and strike up a conversation with me,
But nobody ever does,
I am the person who stares out the window every night,
Looking,
Hoping,
Wanting,
Needing,
Just to have someone come and say it’s alright,
But that will never happen,
Because I am worthless,
I am nothing,
I am Invisible,
Fear

Fear,
The only thing all humans have in their heads,
The only thing that can plague them for life, yet not kill them,
They are the only things that can drive well people to insanity
It is everywhere,
Fear of the future,
Fear of the past,
Fear of death,
Fear of loss,
Fear of isolation,
Fear of themself,
People try everything to get rid of them,
Drugs,
Drinks,
Medicine,
Doctors,
But it never works,
So some people resort to suicide,
Because they think can never get rid of fear,
And they can’t,
Because fear is natural,
Fear is everywhere and everything,
Nobody can get rid of their fears,
They can only accept them,
Satisfaction
By:derpynarhwal42
That feeling you get when you finish a project you worked many months on,
That feeling you get when you get a new opportunity,
That feeling of success,
That feeling of self-worth,
You feel satisfied,
But life isn’t satisfied,
The second you get that feeling it’s gone,
You fail a final that you studied weeks for,
You get fired from your job,
A family member dies,
A friend dies,
You become hopeless,
Broken,
Shattered into millions of pieces,
Feeling like you could never get up again,
But you get up,
Pick up every last shard,
Put yourself back together,
And overcome that obstacle,
And you feel happy

"How does that sound?"
Ezekiel stared back at the dragon’s golden eyes, the words registering slowly in his head. After everything he had been through, all the days spent cowering in darkness, and his ticket home had been sitting just below the floorboards, and he hadn’t had the slightest clue. The dragon tilted his head, waiting expectantly. “I- Yes! Yes, please, that would be amazing!” Ezekiel eagerly stepped towards the dragon, his previous reservations eclipsed by the hope of returning home.
“I figured you would. If you would just help me answer a few questions, I could make the necessary arrangements to se

Ezekiel woke with a stretch, looking around the enormous bedroom. Early sunlight streamed into the room from the open shutters over the window behind him, softly lighting the cozy room. Ezekiel turned to see that his roommate was sitting up and resting against the shuttered window behind her bed. He wasn’t surprised to see that she was totally engrossed by a book in her hands, and she hadn’t noticed that he had woken up. Every morning since Eliza had found him, Ezekiel had woken to find her reading quietly to herself, enjoying one of the dozens of books she had scattered about the room.
Not wanting to disturb the dragon, Ezekiel

It’s in here, IT IS IN HERE WITH YOU,’ Ezekiel’s instincts screamed warnings at him as he struggled to remain calm. He remained completely motionless, breathing slowly and carefully as his heart fluttered out of control. He wasn’t sure if the dragon could see him from this angle, since he didn’t have a good view of the doorway, but he didn’t dare risk checking. The slightest movement or sound could catch the dragon’s attention. His heart hammering in his chest seemed to p

“Eeyowch!” Ezekiel quickly clamped his hand over his mouth, glancing around the room. Thankfully, no one in the house was close enough to hear him. When he was sure he wasn’t going to make any more unwanted outbursts, he slowly lowered his hand and took a deep breath, sitting down and tenderly upending his foot. A large sliver of bloody wood stuck out of the flesh, longer than his index finger. He winced as he gingerly removed the shard from his foot, a small trickle of red flowing from the woun

Chapter Thirteen: The Heir, Apparently
The food Deeth ordered happened to arrive moments later. Deeth sat down in an armchair to eat on a small table. Dardarax shut the curtains and sat down beside him. Kuvilo curled up by Deeth's feet, eating from a foodbowl full of chopped beef.
"And just what in the world are you talking about?" Deeth took a bite out of his burger. "What do you mean I'm the 'lost heir'?"
"I meant what I said, Deeth." Dardarax answered. "You're the one. You're the rightful emperor of the United Kingdoms."
"And just where did you get a weird idea like that?" Deeth scoffed. "Next you'll be saying I'm 'the chosen hero, sent to save the world from a plague of da
